  • Personally tab... i've tried learning notation several times and find myself going back to tab.

  • Notation always gives the most information possible about the music (though it can employ some shorthand!). Tab is a shorthand method and is best for experienced musicians who know how and what to play in a given situation. Notation can show you exactly how and what to play.
