My husband and I are thinking of having another child and we are looking at getting secondary insurance for this. I am just wondering if the money is worth it to get the insurance.Why does the answerer always have in the 100s of points and get chosen in best of answers... Report Abuse

is this a medical or life insurance question? if its medical then i can answer that. i work at a health insurance company and i can tell you that getting a secondary insurance can benefit you if you have a high deductible plan for a primary plan. the 2nd will pick up whatever your primary wont cover. but its pretty silly to get another insurance if you dont have high out of pocket expense with your primary insurance. if you do get the 2nd insurance then the only thing it will pay is your office visit copays or any necessary copays for outpatient or inpatient services. so it really depends on what you have for a primary insurance. but dont get the 2nd insurance because its a waste to pay hundreds just for an office visit copay.What kind of "secondary insurance" do you mean?Why does the answerer always have in the 100s of points and get chosen in best of answers... Run the numbers and read the small print. Rarely do they cover maternity, and most of the time, it's just prepayment.
