How long as earth been here?

  • Like whats the approximate estimate...

    2.3 million years?

    take a look.
    http://www.lucyexhibition.com

  • the last time we looked it was thought to be 4.3 billon years old
lol[ IT'S SO SIMPLE A CAVEMAN CAN SEE IT]

lucy is a monkey no kin to us TRY READING THE BIBLE START WHITH GENESIS.there aint any apes as a ken

  • Last I heard, the best estimate was around 4.3 billion years.

Life turned up not long after that. About 700 million years ago some single celled organisms hit on a way of combining their cells and specialising them to create a multicellular organism.
Mammals have only been around for the last 65 million years or so, and humans as we would recognise them for a couple of million years, about one two-thousandth of the total age of the Earth.

  • Ever since it's been called Earth, as before that it wasn't Earth, so I would say AD sometime. My answer is from a lateral thinking point of view.

  • in the discovery channel, they said earth is "middle aged" lol

  • 4.5 billion years.

  • The earth was created about 6,000 years ago.
There was a flood that covered the entire earth about 4,400 years ago.

The oldest language is how old? About 6,000 years old.
The oldest coral reef is how old? About 4,000 years old.
The oldest tree is how old? About 4,000 years old.
The population of humans plots back to starting about 4,400 years ago.
The oldest desert is how old? About 4,000 years old.

It is funny that all the hard evidence points to the earth being created about 6,000 years ago according to the bible. It is only because of the religion of Naturalism that man has a need for believing that life spontaneously generated and that the first life formed us. Because of this, they had to find reasons to believe that the earth is billions of years old.
There are many things to consider when thinking about the earth being billions of years old.
There are many things about earth that is in perfect equilibrium in order to sustain life. The earth is the exact distance from the sun. The earth spins the right speed. The chemical makeup of the atmosphere and the ground is right. The magnetic poles being the right strength to block out harmful radiation. There are many more but one thing to consider is the perfect placement and equilibrium of these different things and how there is no good reason why these things should need to be like this in order to sustain life. How could all of these things hold their equilibrium for 4.5 billion years. (that 4,500 million years - that is a looooooooooooong time!!!!!!!!!)
There are also limiting factors that show us that the earth is not really that old. These are never looked at by evolutionists because they would show that the earth is not as old as is needed by evolutionary assumtions.

  • Aprox. 4.5 billions years.

"Most scientists believe that the Earth, Sun, and all of the other planets and moons in the solar system formed about 4.6 billion years ago from a giant cloud of gas and dust known as the solar nebula. The gas and dust in this solar nebula originated in a star that ended its life in a violent explosion known as a supernova. The solar nebula consisted principally of hydrogen, the lightest element, but the nebula was also seeded with a smaller percentage of heavier elements, such as carbon and oxygen. All of the chemical elements we know were originally made in the star that became a supernova. Our bodies are made of these same chemical elements. Therefore, all of the elements in our solar system, including all of the elements in our bodies, originally came from this star-seeded solar nebula."

  • 2.3 million years?? Oh you must be a creationist...

Modern science says approximately 4.5 billion years.

  • 4.5 billion years?

  • Earth formed around 4.5 billion years ago. Lucy lived around 2.3 million years ago. She wasn't a lineal ancestor of ours, she was sort of a cousin. Your aunt isn't your ancestor, but your grandmother - the mother of both your aunt and your mother - is. Same idea. We and Lucy had a common ancestor - we descended from a different branch of the family than she did.

  • It at least got to be 4.5 billion years old.

  • About 5000 years...........
