Instant KK Shell Game?
re-checked 10 minutes later with reservations--flight was still showing at 118 sold out of 120 Y seats. called aeroplan, who still showed the flight as oversold by 1. repeated the process again in 15 minutes, with the same result!
the aeroplan agent suggested that aeroplan might maintain a 'buffer' of a few seats when a flight approaches oversold status in the event that there are other concurrent reservations still in progress. i was left with the impression that the flight information available to reservations is not the same as the info that aeroplan agents have access to.....
bottom line: aeroplan cannot do an instant kk if a flight is oversold, even though the flight is not oversold!
has anyone else ever encountered anything like this?
